JR LaPearl (Pastor to Youth) JR was born and raised in the small town of Maiden Creek, Pennsylvania. After graduating from high school, I attended Eastern Nazarene College earning a degree in early childhood education. After graduating I moved to Salisbury, Maryland and I had the privilege to marry my college sweetheart, Nicole. I am very blessed to have three wonderful children, Zachary, Maddison, and Cade. I am very blessed to have had the opportunity to be raised in the Church of the Nazarene. Growing up at Calvary Church of the Nazarene in Reading, Pennsylvania; I was taught in many ways what our great denomination stands for and is the reason why today I embrace the core values of the Nazarene church. I am very proud to say that I am third generation, and my children are carrying on a fourth generation of Nazarenes. With growing up in the church, I made my first real commitment to the Lord around the age of eight at Northeast Nazarene Camp. After that at the age of twelve I experienced the first of my three callings to preach the Word. I say three, because it took the Lord speaking to me three times to realize what my purpose and call was. My last calling was amazing. I was sitting at the same family camp where many years prior I asked the Lord in my heart. He clearly spoke and said “Three times, I will ask no more.” We went home from camp, placed our house on the market, sold it and moved to Colorado Springs to attend Nazarene Bible College where I graduated with my B.A in Pastoral Ministries. I have served as a youth pastor for over 6 years now and love to see the youth of today realize the plan and love that our Lord has for them. I am very excited to see God’s plan unfold for us as He continues to build youth ministry here at The River. Hold on as The River Flows. |
